At Soaring Supersaurus, we’re finding creative ways to develop a second life for traditionally hard-to-recycle plastics at an accessible community level.
Our mission is to unite individuals and local businesses in the Mid to Upper Rhondda Valleys around the issue of plastic pollution.
Our valued partnerships with people in our local community provide an opportunity for them to see their plastic waste transformed into new useful things whilst diverting plastic from landfill.
How to Get Involved as a Local Business
What we’re asking:
We’d like you to wash and save specific plastic waste items like milk bottles and plastic bottle tops.
So that we can collect, process and transform them into new and unique products.
What do you have to do:
Rinse and store your chosen plastic waste items.
That’s it!
You can then sit back, relax and wonder which long-life products the plastic waste you’ve donated could be made into.
How to Get Involved as an Individual
What we’re asking:
We’d like you to wash and save specific plastic waste items like milk bottles, plastic bottle tops and colourful plastics.
You can either drop them at our workshop in Penrhys where we process and transform them into new and unique products or donate them to one of our donation stations.
The two Arts Factory sites of Ferndale and Maerdy are accepting all sorts of plastic donations and you can download our info-sheet to find out what your shampoo bottles or bread bags are made of. In Treorchy, we have a plastic fantastic art sculpture that accepts plastic bottle top donations in the Park and Dare Theatre.
